Rental accounting fails in a specific way: the numbers are all there, spread across a bank app, a notes file, and somebody's memory, and assembling them takes a weekend every April. Keeping the ledger as you go turns that weekend into an export.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a replacement for accounting software?

No. It is the rental-specific record your accounting software or accountant needs as input — the charges, payments, and per-property totals.

Why append-only?

Because the ledger's value is being trustworthy in a dispute, and a record that can be silently edited is not. A correction is a new entry, and the history stays visible.

Can I export it?

The ledger and the tax summary both export as CSV.
